Chão do Pasto camping area is a flat area next to the regional road 202. On both sides of the road you can set up your camp, but only on the East side you have fireplaces and picnic tables. Located at 1360 m altitude and along the slopes of the mountains, is a subject to some fog zone. In the Winter periods a small pond is created due to the rain.
"Ribeiro Frio" forest Park is located in a deep, damp valley surrounded by mountains on the north coast of Madeira Island in Santana. This is an area of high natural beauty, located in the center of Laurel, here you'll find many examples of emblematic species of wood, such as: the Til, the Vinhático, Loureiro and the Barbusano.
Next to the camping area you can visit the famous Cold Brook trout ponds. Across the road you are walking by a mini-Laurel, full of identified specimens where you can cultivate your knowledge of the species of Laurissilva.

"Chão das Feiteiras" is the only plateau in Machico. It's a very green area surrounded by cedars that offer cool shade in summer. Situated just North of Poiso to about 1200m altitude, the nights are often cold, even in summer. The area is close to sheep pastures, so you might be surprised by one of them. The area has fireplaces, picnic tables and drinking water.
Poiso camping area is divided into two sectors: a clearing in the forest around 300 meters from the restaurant "Abrigo do Pastor" and the second about 1 km away. Both areas are located along the road that connects Poiso to Pico Arieiro, this can be troublesome if you want a contact with silence in nature.
Montado do Pereiro is a forest park situated in the parish of Camacha in the city of Santa Cruz. The total area of the park is approximately 1 km2 essentially dominated by exotic and indigenous tree, being crossed by small water streams. The park offers of some sports facilities (soccer fields, mountain bike tracks and mini golf) among others.
Unlike other camping areas in Madeira, Montado do Pereiro has support facilities such as changing rooms and bathrooms for campers. Throughout the park there are some fireplaces where you can make a fire and cook food.
